Part-time International Management MBA
Target group
Further studies do not compellingly require you to terminate an existing employment contract. Managers with initial vocational experience often look for further qualification in addition to their work. That is why the CBS MBA programme International Management can also be studied in five semesters whilst working full-time. This aids your job progress and recommends you for management positions.
The programme starts at the beginning of September. In particular, graduates of non-scientific degree courses can augment their knowledge from their first degree course and initial job experience with solid business and internationally orientated know-how.
Equally, graduates of economics degree courses also profit from discovering models already familiar to them within a new context or even wish to refresh their knowledge which has possibly slightly faded during the course of everyday working life. The MBA programme International Management is a vital prerequisite for several participants to achieve the next career step.
Programme structure
The MBA programme International Management incorporates a total of 13 modules with lectures and seminars which are spread over four semesters in the version whilst working full-time. You write your Master of Arts thesis in the final fifth semester. The lectures and seminars are spread over some two weekends per month as well as one block week per semester, respectively with full-day courses. In addition to economics business seminars, you visit various skills courses in which you learn management and intercultural competences which are required in management positions nowadays. Moreover, the CBS provides you the opportunity to specialise in an area of your choice within the scope of an elective course.
In addition to an introductory module for the area of Management Principles, Accounting Principles are also taught in the first semester. In the area of interdisciplinary competences, you attend courses on the topics of Research Principles as well as Project and Team Management.
In the second semester, Module Organisation and Strategy, Business Environment as well as Global Supply Chain Management are on the agenda.
The third semester concentrates on two modules from the financial area. Parallel to this, you train your intercultural and management competences in the two modules Culture and Change Management and Creativity and Leadership.
During the fourth semester, the students can select a specialist course from the areas of Sustainability, Business Psychology or Entrepreneurship / Innovation Management, depending on their personal preferences. The International Management module rounds the programme off. Additionally, a careers seminar as well as the preparatory Master of Arts thesis workshop are held during this semester.
You write your Master of Arts thesis during the final semester. In the thesis, for example, the students process a current problem in a company whilst taking scientifically sound methods and approaches into consideration – with pleasure also in close collaboration with a company. In this way, both the students and the companies profit from the results elaborated.
You extend your competence in several areas after 5 semesters and make yourself more attractive for senior positions.
