Entertainment Management

Varied prospects

Students who decide in favour of a career in Management, including leadership positions in the Media / Entertainment sector, or are interested in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or strive for a vocational future as media producers are recommended to enrol for the International Media and Entertainment Management Master of Arts course. This study programme combines in-depth economics training with the communication of management and leadership competences for the Media / Entertainment and ICT sectors as well as technical competences for media production. You attend seminars for advanced questions pertaining to Media and Entertainment Management, Online and Social Media Management, Cross-Media Production, (Online) Journalism, Print and Broadcast Management or regarding the strategic development of leadership competences. Moreover, you specialise on topics and areas of application of Media Management and Media Production during your industrial placement and the Master of Arts thesis.

Study with practical application

The Media faculty still offers you practical experience you can gather in the area of media production, e.g. via cooperation with CBS TV or participation in applied media research projects. For intense vocational orientation and communicating contacts for industrial placements and starting your career, guest speakers who report on current media trends and on jobs in the media sector are invited each semester. Excursions to events in the multifaceted Cologne media sector also take place.
