The preparation course at the CBS

You would like to study at the CBS but your school leaving certificate does not qualify you for qualified studies at a German university? By participating in the preparation course Prep 4 CBS and completing an assessment test (Feststellungsprüfung) successfully, you can acquire the qualification for commencing a Bachelor of Arts or Masters‘ Degree course at the Cologne Business School.

Prep 4 CBS prepares you in the subjects Economics, Mathematics, English and German for the assessment test in only six months in the Business Sciences core course. Following a successful assessment test, you are automatically the English-language qualified studies International Business or International Culture and Management directly. With this programme, the CBS has created a follow-up model for the Studienkollegs which are to be closed following a decision taken by the state government of Northrhine-Westphalia. Participation in Prep 4 CBS equips you with the sound specialist knowledge, qualifying you to study Business. Both the preparation course and the ensuing qualified studies at the CBS are held in English. You are prepared for the assessment test in small groups, in a pleasant learning atmosphere.

You may download or request the application form for the Prep 4 CBS of our website. In addition to the filled out Application form for the Prep 4 CBS course, please submit the following
documents:

  • An officially certified copy of your school leaving certificate, if applicable a certificate for courses taken at a university or university of applied sciences
  • Your complete curriculum vitae
  • Your letter of motivation
  • A copy of your passport
  • Proof of English language skills: TOEFL certificate (477 points paper-based, 153 points computer-based, 53 points internet-based), IELTS (4.5) or similar. The tests must not be older than two years. You can also furnish proof of corresponding language skills by taking the in-house CBS language test.
