CBS Ethics and Sustainability Award 2011

The Ethics and Sustainability Award, endowed with prize money totaling € 4000, bestowed by the Dr. Jürgen Meyer Foundation in collaboration with the Cologne Business School, was awarded for the first time . In total, four prizes were awarded in the category “social project” and “academic paper”.
The winners of the category “social project” are University2Business (U2B). A group of dedicated CBS students, who are planning a networking-and recruiting event, are standing behind this project. The second winners in this category are CBS-students who strive to fulfill wishes for seriously ill children. The project will be carried out in cooperation with the association wünschdirwas.e.V, which is located in Cologne. For the last 22 years, the association has made unforgettable moments for young children possible, which inspire the kids with confidence and optimism.
In the category “academic paper” two winners were awarded, as well. A student from the University of Cologne was awarded for his diploma thesis dealing with ethical investments. The conditions under which high profits and ethical principles can coexist were analyzed.
The second winner in this category is a CBS-student, who did an outstanding empirical study on sustainable employee management and approaches for fair employee treatment.
