The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) ensures that credits achieved abroad can be fully assigned. In times of globalisation, the contents of the CBS degree courses meet the evolving requirements of the economy with regard to the international side of the education, also due to intense foreign language training and industrial placements abroad.

Due to its close-knit contacts to well-known (inter)national enterprises from all sectors, the CBS offers you an excellent platform for an entry to interesting companies, both domestic and foreign - already during your studies. Companies like REWE, Bayer and Cologne Bonn Airport also support the CBS students with workshops, job application training and scholarships. The CBS extracurricular studies, the so-called “Studium Generale”, with companies ensure a constantly growing network with workshops, company seminars, excursions and lectures.

FACT-BASED AND COMPACT
All subject areas of the Bachelor of Arts and Masters‘ degrees at the CBS are connected by fact-based management studies with intense language training for at least one foreign language, based on international language diplomas. Additionally, you will complete a semester abroad within the Bachelor of Arts courses International Business, International Culture and Management and International Tourism Management. Regular guest lectures held by German and international experts and from all areas of society complement the courses. No other university of applied sciences in Germany has enjoyed such successful seventeen years‘ experience with Bachelor of Arts degree courses.

PERSONAL SKILLS
Your confident appearance and fact-based knowledge are critical for your later success. That is why the CBS trains your personal and methodical competence with a versatilely designed skills development programme, for example with courses on rhetoric and presentation techniques and scientific work. In addition, business games incorporating company management ensure variety in the curriculum and train your management and decision-making ability. Intercultural coaching equips you to act with assurance and confidence all over the world. You know the national customs!

STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY
Campus-wide broadband wireless LAN access, PC workplaces, beamers for mobile use, Internet and network resources make certain that the best pre-requisites for modern-day studying at the CBS. Furthermore, you benefit from optimised communication and administration processes as a result of a
highly modern campus management system and just-in-time notification per SMS, for example if a course is postponed or room changes are made.

UNIVERSITY CERTIFICATES
It is becoming increasingly important for applicants on the job market to be able to furnish proof of special abilities which positively distinguish them from their competitors. Therefore, special training with SPSS and SAP software is a component of the CBS study programmes. This analysis software enables basic data management and comprehensive statistical and data analyses using the most common statistical processes and is being used more and more in companies which operate nationally.

ACCREDITED
We regularly subject all our degree courses to external quality controls and accreditation. Here, both the inner logic of a degree course and its structure and the feasibility of studying it are observed. Here, the international accreditation agency FIBAA certified, for example, the areas of economic proximity and practical relevance with excellent appraisal. The “Centrum
für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE )” [Centre for Higher Education Development] awarded the CBS top marks, identifying the CBS as one of the top universities for business studies in NRW [North Rhine-Westphalia].

OFFICIALLY RECOGNISED DEGREES
The university degrees “Bachelor of Arts” and “Master of Arts” de facto enjoy a high standing, in part due to the CBS‘ close-knit contacts to several (inter)national companies.
